The default mode for this device is to measure the distance to a golf pin, but it can be changed at the push of a button to measure the distance to ANYTHING in "General Mode".

HOW TO USE
Press the ON / Adjust Button. Aim the base line on the screen on a level with the green.
Press ON/ Adjust button to lower the location of horizontal line to the top of the pin.
The number displayed on the the top of the screen is the distance in yards.

battery installation -- make sure 2 batteries be put in the right direction, "+" side of batter to touch "+" of the battery compartment, do same for "-" side
