About Leica
Leica Camera AG is an international optics company headquartered in Solms, Germany. The company has been a pioneer and standard-setter in the field of rangefinding for eighteen years, and all products from the company's three divisionsPhotography, Hunting Lenses, and Nature Watchinghave a shared mission: Simply, to deliver better images.
The Leica Range Master Rangefinder w/ Integrated Intelligent Ballistic Program 40528 measures not only the precise distance, it even calculates the bullet trajectory before it hits the target. In addition to the standard ballistic trajectory, its Leica microcomputer also integrates the angle of elevation/declination, the temperature and the barometric pressure in its calculations. This brings an invaluable benefit for hunters and outdoorsmen, as it displays the point of aim in less than 0.3 seconds without any need to study bullet ballistic tables and without laborious measuring procedures. Big game hunters can react rapidly and accurately and get their shots right on target in even the most difficult situations. A further improvement offered by the new Rangemaster 1600 40528 Rangefinder by Leica is its extended range of 1500 meters (1600 yards), and the rejection of measured distances below ten meters.

This Leica Range Finder is important for hunters and makes the Nikon CRF 40528 ballistic rangefinder ideal for use from cover bushes, brush and grass at close range can now no longer influence its measuring performance. All measuring results are analyzed electronically and deliver only unambiguous and accurate values. This means that hunters can rely on this Range Finder with absolute certainty. The brightness and sharpness of its LED display have been decisively improved too. The figures remain clear and distinctly legible even in the dazzling brightness of snowscapes. Its display is as bright as day and absolutely tack-sharp. The display brightness adjusts automatically to ambient lighting conditions. This effectively prevents dazzling in the dark and improves legibility when it's bright. And now, users can easily switch the units displayed from meters to yards. Its computer hardware converts the results into the units required and indicates the units displayed to prevent confusion.

Other details include an LED display with an automatic brightness control and aiming circle, a scan mode that produces instant readings from target to target, and a compact, lightweight housing.

About Swarovski Optik
Although founded in 1949, Swarovski Optik's roots actually trace all the way back to 1895, when Austrian Daniel Swarovski--who invented the world's first electric grinding machine for jewelry stones--established the family-owned Swarovski Crystal in the province of Tyrol. Since then, the name Swarovski has become synonymous worldwide with the clearest crystal, precision grinding, and a brilliant spirit of innovation, as the original enterprise continued branching out into additional lines of business.

Swarovski Optik owes its rise to Wilhelm Swarovski, son of the original founder and an avid hobby astronomer, who decided to build his own improved binocular in 1935 at a mere 17 years of age. With access to the specialized glass production and finishing technologies already used to manufacture jewelry stones in his father's factory, Wilhelm managed to develop a novel prism fabrication and grinding process that he applied in constructing his first 6x30 binocular. Wilhelm went on to found Swarovski Optik KG in Absam, Tyrol, in 1949, thus laying the foundation for a sports optics company with a global reputation. His company's first serial product, the Habicht 7x42, is still an industry standard in the field of hunting optics and continues to be produced in the best tradition of its founder.

The Swarovski Optik 8x30 Laser Guide combines the high quality standards of Swarovski Optik performance with the latest laser range-measuring technologies. Packaged in a lightweight and compact instrument for exceptional performance in terms of image quality and precision accuracy, even in poor weather and light conditions. Experience accurate readings to 1600 yards.

• Course data storage capability up to 20,000 courses
• No membership fees or course download fees

• Scoretracking module
• Simple and Easy Operation

How it Works:

• Score Tracking: GolfBuddy's score tracking feature allows you to keep a record of up to 1,000 rounds of golf stored into your unit. In addition to keeping your score, it also stores information for the course you played on and the date you played. This feature comes in handy for keeping your handicap, as well as going back to track your scores on previous rounds that you played at a certain course on a specific day.
• Calculate Shot Distance: Knowing the actual distance that you hit with each club is critical to playing your best golf. The Mark Feature on the GolfBuddy allows you to measure your shot distance at the touch of a single button. From your current position, all you need to do is take your shot, push the Mark Button on the side of your GolfBuddy and travel towards where your ball has landed, and you will get an accurate measurement of how far you hit your shot.
• Remaining Distance Display to Targets: (1) Hazard Avoidance--The various natural and man made hazards on the course make up the character of the course and give the golfer varying levels of difficulty. Knowing where these hazards are, and how to avoid them can eliminate strokes from your game. The GolfBuddy displays distance values for each of the "in play" hazards, as well as aspects of the terrain, which affect shot selection and course management. Golf Buddy lists all items, which can affect your play, even if you cannot see them from your present location. (2) Layups and Carries--Knowing the location of a hazard is only one part of the equation. To effectively avoid the hazard you need to know the Lay-up (approach) distance, as well as the distance to pass the item (carry distance). The GolfBuddy gives you each of these values when required. The GolfBuddy is designed to offer you a variety of information screens so that you are constantly aware of every distance.
• Automatic Course and Hole Recognition: Without GolfBuddy's automatic course recognition feature, sorting through the list of thousands pre-loaded courses to find the course and hole that you are on would be a difficult task. The minute you power on your GolfBuddy, it automatically locates the course and hole that you are on and brings up the yardage information within moments. GolfBuddy's Auto Hole Recognition feature tracks your position on the course and automatically advances to each hole as you play. This allows you to keep your mind focused on your game without having to deal with the trouble of manually setting your unit as you advance towards the next hole.
• Continuous Distance Updates and Your Current Position: From the moment you turn on your GolfBuddy, it begins measuring distance values to the green and to all target points. Distance measurements are automatically updated so there is no need to manually refresh the screen as you move along the course.
• Golf Course Customization: In addition to the targets that are already programmed into your unit, GolfBuddy also allows you to add up to 11 additional targets per hole. This allows you to add specific carry distances and preferred lay-up points.
• Remaining Distance Display to the Green: Knowing the actual distance that you hit with each club is critical to playing your best golf.

Golf Buddy World Platinum GPS Range Finder

Golf Buddy World Platinum GPS Range Finder Review

Golf Buddy World Platinum GPS Range Finder Feature

• Golf GPS rangefinder with automatic course and hole recognition
• Preloaded with 40,000 courses from around the world
• Full-color, high-resolution, outdoor-visible touchscreen display
• 4-player score tracking feature; calculates distance hit with each club
• Shock- and water-resistant housing; lithium-ion rechargeable battery

Take the guesswork out of your golf game with the GolfBuddy World Platinum, a true GPS rangefinder with automatic course and hole recognition. The Golf Buddy World Platinum--which comes preloaded with 40,000 courses from around the world--helps you gain confidence on the course by telling you exactly how far and where to go with every shot. The unit is equipped with a full-color, high-resolution, outdoor-visible touchscreen that gives you the exact distance to greens, bunkers, lakes, lay-up points, trees, and more. The view of the green is dynamic, meaning the Golf Buddy World Platinum changes the shape of the green depending on your angle of approach. Need to know whether the trees on the right are in play, or whether the far bunker is within range of your 7-iron? Just grab the Golf Buddy World Platinum and it provides all the information you need. Users can easily switch back and forth from the full layout mode (with zoom in and zoom out options)--which helps them gauge the distance to any point throughout the course--and the standard numbers mode, which displays the distance to the front, center, and back of the green as well as key target points. You can also customize your own target points. Plus, there's no need to aim the GPS to obtain distance information, as the GolfBuddy World Platinum automatically recognizes your surroundings. Just turn it on and play.

The GolfBuddy World Platinum automatically displays the distance to the green and calculates the distance to sand traps, ponds, and other hazards.

How the GolfBuddy World Platinum Works
The GolfBuddy World Platinum offers a number of features that help you take your golf game to the next level. The four-player score tracking feature, for example, lets you record countless rounds, and includes tags for the course and date. This helps you calculate your handicap and track your progress over time. The GolfBuddy World Platinum also calculates the actual distance you hit with each club--a critical component for lowering your scores. Just mark your starting position, hit your shot, and walk to where the ball landed. And to help you improve your course management skills, the GolfBuddy World Platinum tracks your distance from the green (front, center, and back) at all times and the distance of all in-play hazards. The unit lists every item that can affect your play, even if you can't see it from your present location. The GolfBuddy World Platinum even provides the lay-up (approach) and carry distances for each hazard, so you'll know how to effectively bypass the ponds and sand traps that lay in wait.

Perhaps the coolest feature, however, is the automatic course recognition. Rather than requiring you to sort through thousands of pre-loaded courses, the GolfBuddy World Platinum automatically locates your course and hole the minute you turn it on. This helps you keep your mind focused on your game rather than your GPS unit. Other features include a shock- and water-resistant case, 50-channel satellite reception, multiple language recognition, and a high-capacity lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The GolfBuddy World Platinum--which doesn't require any annual or course download fees--comes with a USB data cable, belt clip, and swivel holster.

The GolfBuddy World Platinum is designed for use by the golfers of all skill levels. With its full function touch screen, users can point to anywhere on the course and attain distance to and from that point. The World Platinum presents a dynamic and simple to use interface. The World Platinum is both shock and water resistant.

• Bow: Provides true horizontal distance from 5 to 99 yards based on angle.
• Rifle Mode: Select the ballistic group of your firearm (guidelines supplied). When you range your target, an inclinometer displays the angle and provides bullet-drop/holdover in inches (up to 99") from 100 to 600 yards.
• SCAN: Allows you to pan across the landscape while viewing a continuously updated LCD display of the distances between you and the targets you scan.
• BullsEye: Geared for close-range use, this mode acquires the distances of small targets and game without inadvertently measuring background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display.
• Brush: Ignores the foreground, such as brush, boulders and tree branches, and provides distances on the LCD display to background objects only.

How a Laser Rangefinder Works
Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within ±1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.

OTHER BRANDS ARE AN OPTION. SO IS FILLING YOUR TAG. A single button does the math. Just squeeze the shot and rmember your knife. Amazingly compact and simple to use, our new Scout 1000 with ARC figures distance based on terrain angle to give you an accurate "shoots-like" distnace to 1,000 yards. In Rifle Mode, it even tells you where to hold. All with the tap of a button-in a vertical unit small enough to fit inyour shirt pocket. In capability and ease of use, nothing else even comes close.
